E2SE Programme
The Entry to Stud Employment programme (E2SE) is conducted in two intakes. Both provide the opportunity to learn the fundamental skills of caring for thoroughbreds through a work-based learning approach. Both courses are fully funded by the TBA and the Racing Foundation, and hosted by the National Stud.
The first intake is for those with no previous equine experience. Students will complete the 1st4sport 'Level One Diploma in Work-Based Thoroughbred Horse Care' while working alongside the stud team on a daily basis. The course is full time residential and runs for 6 weeks followed by an optional 3 weeks of work experience.
Level 1 is tailored for those with some practical experience working with horses. Those who have been successful at Level 1 can continue onto the Level 2 course or continue their qualifications in the workplace. The course is full time residential and runs for 9 weeks. Those who meet the required standard will be invited to interview for a work placement at a UK stud farm where they will complete the 1st4sport 'Level 2 Diploma in Work-Based Horse Care (Breeding Option)'.
